PHYSIO FOR COMBAT SPORTS AND MARTIAL ARTS
Combat Sport Athletes

Have you had the experience where you have trialled multiple therapists and health professionals, but they don't seem to understand the unique challenges and requirements of your chosen combat sport or martial art?
Have you walked away from a consultation feeling frustrated that the advice that you received was simply "rest", with no suggestion as to what you can train and when?
Our clinic at Top Performance Physio Chatswood is set up in the excellent facilities of SGC MMA. We have worked with athletes from a range of levels from various different combat sports and martial arts. The list includes Muay thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Boxing, Karate, Taekwondo, a cornucopia of Kung fu systems (including wing chun & Tai Chi), Fencing, and even Turkish Oil wrestling.
We are passionate about martial arts, and understand that simply stopping training and completely resting is often not an option.
We understand that training is a lifestyle, and it is our goal when working with people to help them keep moving as much as possible.
This is achieved through a detailed initial consultation, where we look at your injury history, training loads and goals. We also assess your injured limb and perform a biomechanical assessment relevant to your body and chosen martial art. Once we have gathered all the necessary data, we then treat through a combination of hands on skills, taping, and exercise prescription to get you progressing.
